A Leftover Matched Set

My Sew Happy Quilt included a scrappy stripe as part of the border. It turned out that I made longer strips than I needed and ended up with a few yards leftover. I didn't want the fabric to go to waste, but what to do with it? It occurred to me that I could use the lengths to embellish a set of bed sheets to match the quilt. I purchased a set of white bedsheets and pillowcases and got to work.

 

This project took no time at all. I simply pressed the edges of strips inward about a quarter inch and edge stitched on either side. 

Aren't they pretty? I can't wait to finish binding the quilt so that I can make by bed and show you the finished product!
